Whether you’re a blogger, developer, designer or entrepreneur,\u00a0WordCamp Kent\u00a0offers something for you!<\/strong><\/p>\n “WordCamps<\/b> are informal, community-organized events that are put together by WordPress users like you. Everyone from casual users to core developers participate, share ideas, and get to know each other.” During this\u00a0two-day event (June 24th & 25th) you can expect to learn all about WordPress, mingle\u00a0with like-minded people,\u00a0get your swag on,\u00a0and have all of your WordPress questions answered, too.<\/p>\n Registration and Opening Remarks<\/strong> Keynotes<\/strong> Sessions<\/strong> Each session runs about 30 minutes with an additional 15 minutes at the end of each for Q&A and discussions (participation encouraged), leaving you plenty of navigation time between rooms and sessions.<\/p>\n We recommend browsing the schedule<\/a> and speaker bios<\/a> ahead of time to get a feel for which talks most interest you.<\/p>\n WordPress 101<\/strong> Sponsors<\/strong> “Hallway sessions” are also a great way to mingle with our WordCamp volunteers and speakers, too!<\/em><\/p>\n Lunch<\/strong> If you haven’t made any connections by lunch, no worries!\u00a0Keep informed on where fellow WordCampers are headed with\u00a0#WCKENT<\/strong>\u00a0on Twitter. You’ll find WordCampers are a very social and diverse group of people who are enthusiastic about all things WordPress (and always happy to interact with newbies). \nSince we’ll start each day with registration (8:00 AM Saturday and 8:15 AM Sunday) and opening remarks (8:45 AM\/9:05 AM), you’ll have plenty of time to acclimate yourself with the venue<\/a>, locate your sessions, and settle in before we begin.<\/p>\n
\nWe have two exceptional\u00a0Keynote Speakers you won’t want to miss! Saturday (9:00 AM),\u00a0Carrie Dils<\/a>, \u00a0and Sunday (9:15 AM), Ed Finkler<\/a>\u00a0with a Community Keynote.<\/p>\n
\nNext up, you’ll attend whichever\u00a0sessions<\/a>\u00a0you want!\u00a0Our\u00a0fantastic lineup of speakers (from near and far) will deliver a variety of topics for all skill sets and roles within the WordPress community.<\/p>\n
\nThis year, WCKENT is offering a full WordPress 101<\/a> track presented by Melinda Helt<\/a>.\u00a0WordPress 101 is a full-day workshop designed for people who are brand new to WordPress, or who would like an A-Z overview of what WordPress can do!<\/p>\n
\nOf course WordCamp Kent\u00a0wouldn’t be possible without the help of our fabulous\u00a0Sponsors<\/a>. They’ll be located throughout the venue hallways, so take a spin by\u00a0and hear how their excellent products and services can make your WordPress experience even better. \nWhen we break for lunch Saturday (11:45 AM), you\u00a0can wander through the nearby downtown area to visit\u00a0the local artisan\u00a0restaurants<\/a> and shops<\/a> in beautiful Kent<\/a>. This is the perfect time to get to know new folks and socialize, too.<\/p>\n
\nBoth days we’ll end sessions together with closing remarks (4:25 PM\/3:20 PM), and Saturday evening\u00a0we’ll head over to the After Party.<\/p>\n
