{"id":5,"date":"2017-03-16T09:47:44","date_gmt":"2017-03-16T13:47:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/2017.kent.wordcamp.org\/?p=5"},"modified":"2017-05-30T14:01:35","modified_gmt":"2017-05-30T18:01:35","slug":"call-for-speakers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kent.wordcamp.org\/2017\/call-for-speakers\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Speakers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WordCamp Kent is looking for speakers to inspire and inform attendees that include designers, developers, marketers, business owners, bloggers, and content strategists.<\/p>\n<p>Sessions will be 45 minutes, with 25 &#8211; 30 minutes allotted for your talk and 15 &#8211; 20 minutes for Q &amp; A and further discussion.<\/p>\n<p>The deadline to submit your application is 11 PM EDT on Saturday April 15, 2017. You will be notified when a decision about your submission is made, no later than April 30.<\/p>\n<p>General guidelines for speakers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We\u2019 re looking for talks that are relevant to casual WordPress users, experienced developers, and anywhere between.<\/li>\n<li>You do not need to be a professional speaker, but you should be knowledgeable about the topic you are presenting.<\/li>\n<li>You are encouraged to apply even if you have never spoken at a WordCamp before. If you need some inspiration, take a look at some of the great talks published on <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.tv\/\" target=\"_blank\">WordPress TV<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>All submissions are reviewed by the organizer committee. Be prepared to submit your speaker slides or review your presentation with an organizer prior to the event if asked.<\/li>\n<li>Speakers will be provided free admission to WordCamp Kent 2017 and also get to attend a speaker dinner, but we cannot reimburse travel, lodging, or other expenses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>While all topics are welcome, we would like to see talks relating to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>WordPress Fundamentals<\/li>\n<li>Blogging and Content Creation<\/li>\n<li>Design and User Experience<\/li>\n<li>Backend Development<\/li>\n<li>Workflows<\/li>\n<li>Marketing and Branding<\/li>\n<li>Running a WordPress Based Business<\/li>\n<li>Themes<\/li>\n<li>Plugins<\/li>\n<li>Security<\/li>\n<li>Digital marketing &amp;\u00a0growth<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>KNOW SOMEONE YOU WOULD LIKE TO HEAR SPEAK ?
